About MT4 Indicator Central
Updated 2026-06-09
MT4 Indicator Central is a small library of free MetaTrader 4 indicators and terminal tools. The whole point is simple: collect genuinely useful, genuinely open-source MT4 tools, check that each one can legally be redistributed, package it so it drops straight into the platform, and write an honest page about what it does and does not do.
How we choose what goes on the site
We do not rehost everything we can find. A tool earns a place only if it passes four tests:
- It is legally redistributable. We read the actual licence in each project, the file does not get listed unless it carries a real open-source licence (MIT, Apache-2.0 or GPL) granted by its own author. No licence, no listing.
- It is genuinely an MT4 tool. A real .mq4 indicator or terminal tool, not an Expert Advisor, not a script, not an MT5-only file dressed up as MT4.
- It is useful and distinct. We do not ship five versions of the same idea, and we do not pad the count with thin re-skins.
- It compiles and works. Every download includes the source and any files it needs to build inside MetaTrader 4.
Why the reviews are honest
A tool that lags, repaints on the current bar, or only suits one kind of market is more useful to you when we say so. Every page states the real limitations alongside the strengths. We would rather you skip a tool that does not fit your trading than download something that disappoints you, that is how a free resource earns trust.
Licensing and credit
Every download ships with its original licence file and a NOTICE that credits the original author and links back to the source project. We claim no ownership of the indicators, we package and document open-source work so it is easier to find, understand and install. If you are an author and want a change to how your work is credited or listed, contact us and we will sort it out.
What we are not
We do not sell signals, we do not run a paid tier, and nothing here is financial advice. These are analytical and workflow tools for a trading platform. What you do with them, and the risk you take, is yours.
